Assistant News Director
WBRZ is seeking an innovative, energetic newsroom leader to join the journalism team as Assistant News Director. This position will manage day-to-day newsroom operations, implementing the strategy set by the News Director. Will directly manage digital/desk personnel on deployment of personnel, content generation, and day-of planning. This newsroom thrives on urgency. News Producer
WBRZ is seeking a full-time producer for its 4-hour morning show in Baton Rouge, LA. You'll round out the five-producer team who does everything from researching to writing news stories, as well as coordinating the on-air talent and production crew. This role requires strong writing skills and organization, as well as a deep understanding of the news and current events. Digital Engagement Producer
A Digital Engagement Producer key role is focused on creating and managing digital content to engage online audiences and extend the reach of the station's news and brand. They bridge the gap between traditional broadcast journalism and the evolving digital landscape.

  • The Digital Engagement Producer is responsible for managing and producing content for WBRZ's social media platforms.
  • Repurposes news content for social media platforms
  • Works with staff throughout the day to curate daily, original content for multiple departments
  • Works with the digital team to identify opportunities and strategies for engagement
  • Trains staff and keeps up to date on the latest trends on social media
  • Leads special community projects as assigned by the News Director

Broadcast Meteorologist
We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Meteorologist to join our four-person weather team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about weather, confident in front of the camera, and skilled in interpreting and communicating complex meteorological data in an engaging manner. This person will produce daily forecasts on multiple platforms, including television, digital, and social media throughout the workday.  Knowledge of South Louisiana is a plus. Applicant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
  • 1 to 3 years of on-air experience as a Broadcast Meteorologist
  • Be qualified for AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal or NWA Seal of Approval
  • Familiarity with TWC Max platforms a plus

Overnight Master Control Operator
WBRZ, the ABC affiliate in Baton Rouge, is looking for a detail-oriented Overnight Master Control Operator to oversee our broadcast operations. This is a critical role ensuring the smooth transmission of live and pre-recorded content.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Midnight – 8:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control broadcast signals, ensuring seamless playout of scheduled programming and commercial content.
- Operate the Crispin automation system and troubleshoot playout issues.
- Ensure accuracy of commercial logs and report discrepancies.
- Respond to technical problems, escalate issues as needed, and communicate with Engineering.
- Maintain the integrity of emergency alert systems and follow FCC regulations.
- Perform routine quality checks on video and audio signals.

Qualifications:
- Experience in Master Control or broadcast operations preferred.
- Familiarity with Crispin automation and Harmonic servers is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic technical troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to work independently during overnight hours.

WBRZ is searching for an Investigative Reporter to add to our award-winning Investigative Unit. A successful candidate should have a knack for navigating complex stories and holding officials accountable. You'll enterprise, research, write, and investigate stories for our broadcast and digital platforms. At least two years of TV, radio, newspaper, or online newsroom experience is required. WBRZ Account Executive
WBRZ- TV is looking for a highly motivated and competitive business professional who is a self-starter to sell advertising solutions to local businesses including digital asset strategies.
The applicant is expected to:

  • Manage and grow an existing account list,
  • Develop new business,
  • Employ excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Meet all revenue and new business goals for multiple entities.

Required Experience:
Ad sales experience is preferred, including knowledge of Comscore ratings, Power Point and other Windows-based software. A college degree and advertising sales experience is preferred.

Internships
WBRZ offers internships each semester in the following departments: News, Marketing, Information Systems, Production, Graphics, Sports, and Weather. Interns will experience firsthand the daily operations of the department and will perform various duties as assigned. Student must be enrolled in a station approved college/university and be approved by the college dean/advisor/chair to take an internship course for curriculum credit and grade.
