BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge General has opened a new orthopedic clinic at its Bluebonnet campus location.

The clinic, Baton Rouge General Physicians Orthopedics, is led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Austin Broussard and offers a full range of orthopedic services for both adult and adolescent patients.

BRG Orthopedics treats pain and injuries involving upper and lower extremities including shoulders, knees, elbows and hips. Patients have access to advanced imaging, treatment options, minimally invasive and traditional procedures and rehabilitation services.

The clinic is located inside BRG's Center for Health, which also houses the hospital's outpatient surgery center.

Broussard's expertise covers nonsurgical and surgical management of shoulder, knee, hip, elbow and sports-related injuries, with a specialization in arthroscopic and open procedures. His training included caring for athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional levels.

"I'm excited to return to Louisiana and I look forward to getting to know my patients and their families," Broussard said. "This is a community with an incredible passion for family, sports and staying active. My goal is to provide patients and athletes alike with the highest level of orthopedic and sports medicine care, building lasting relationships not only with them but with coaches, trainers and fellow physicians in our region."

Broussard is now accepting new patients. BRG Orthopedics is located at 9001 Summa Ave., Suite 127 and can be reached at 225-237-1811.
