LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish deputies arrested a woman accused of trespassing at a Labadieville home, threatening its occupants with a gun and firing a shot while trying to enter the home. 

Deputies responded to reports of trespassing at a Brusly Road home. According to deputies, 34-year-old Brittany Blanchard had been warned not to return to the home after a previous dispute. 

Despite these warnings, Blanchard, armed with a large-caliber gun, went to the house on Tuesday night. She then threatened the home's occupant with the gun, forcing him to retreat back into his home.

While trying to make her way inside, Blanchard fired a shot at the home. 

The gun was later recovered, and Blanchard was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, entering after being forbidden, resisting arrest, discharge of firearms and criminal mischief.
