BATON ROUGE - The family of Patricia Jackson is suing Our Lady of the Lake and Inner Parish Security Corporation, along with Jackson's then-boyfriend, Roland Domino.

Jackson, who worked at the hospital, was allegedly killed by Domino in the parking lot.

In the suit, Jackson's family alleges that negligence by Our Lady of the Lake led to the incident. The filing claims the hospital failed to properly supervise its contracted security, failed to enforce security protocols in the employee parking lot and negligently retained a private security company.

The lawsuit also says Domino was allowed to remain on the property for hours without being questioned by security officers. The company that patrols the parking lot and facility, Inner Parish Security Corporation, was also named as a defendant.

The family claims the security company failed to properly hire, train, and supervise its officers, saying that the company was inadequately staffed at the property and allowed Domino to remain on the premises.

The lawsuit further alleged that Inner Parish Security Corporation failed to enforce security policies required under its agreement with the hospital.

The family is seeking damages for physical and mental pain, medical expenses related to the shooting, funeral costs, and any damages throughout the trial.

WBRZ reached out to the hospital, which said it is aware of the lawsuit but cannot comment on the legal specifics.

"Mrs. Patricia was a valued member of the FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake family and we continue to pray for the peace and healing of her family, friends and colleagues," Public Relations Director Alexandra Deiro Stubbs said.

According to court records, Domino is scheduled for a trial in the spring.
