FEMA unit delay, solved by 2 On Your Side
DENHAM SPRINGS - Many people are still waiting to get into their manufactured housing units following the August flood. Some say they've been locked out weeks for various reasons.
Madeline Luke tells News Two she's been passed off from one person to the next, trying to get answers as to why she can't move in. She called 2 On Your Side for help and got the answers she was looking for.
Luke says she would have had to wait another week before she got into her mobile unit. It was delivered Sept. 23 and she's been waiting for someone to connect her electricity.
"This has gone on too long," she said.
Luke has been on the phone with FEMA and Entergy trying to get answers.
WBRZ asked Entergy about the wait. It said crews went to Luke's home and marked the location of Entergy's below grade pedestal. Next, it needed to wait on FEMA's electrical contractor to install its facilities, which it did Tuesday.
Luke says Entergy told her it would visit her home to hook up her electrical on Oct. 25. When 2 On Your Side met with Luke Wednesday, there was an Entergy truck across the street. We asked about Luke's house and the crew drove right over to connect her MHU.
