LIVINGSTON — Gum Swamp Road will be closed just north of Miller Road from Tuesday, Sept. 15 to Saturday, Sept. 19.

According to Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte, the closure comes as crews work to replace large cross culverts as part of the Better Roads Program. 

Drivers in the area should use Highway 63 as an alternate route and plan for additional travel time while construction is taking place.

"Replacing these large cross culverts is an important part of the work we're doing before roadway improvements," Delatte said. "Proper drainage is critical to protecting the road and making sure the improvements we're investing in will last."
