ROSEDALE — Deputies seized nearly a pound and a half of fentanyl from an alleged drug dealer on Monday, the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office announced. 

Deputies arrested Deontrae Beckwood, of Rosedale, on a charge of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics in excess of 250 grams. 

During the investigation, IPSO said, deputies seized 637 grams of fentanyl. 

The arrest and seizure were a result of a joint investigation between IPSO and the Baton Rouge Police Department.
