BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers are searching for a man who burglarized multiple homes at apartment complexes along Ben Hur Road on Monday. 

The man tried to break into a home at Tradition at 777 and later got inside of a residence at Redpoint Baton Rouge BRPD Cpl. Saundra Watts said they have yet to determine a motive and said they responded to the two separate incidents within minutes of one another.

“The specifics of if he's targeting women or if he's targeting a certain apartment or if he's targeting a certain demographic, again those questions remain unanswered at this time,” Watts said.

Residents said they witnessed the suspect get into a silver-gray sedan with an indent on the driver's side. Cpl. Watts said that both apartments are full of college students. 

“We understand that there are a lot of college students that live in that area, make sure that you keep your windows and doors to your apartment locked. If you have faulty locks on your windows and or doors contact your management agency to get that corrected."

Police warn residents and others if they come across the suspect to not confront him, and call the police immediately.
