OXFORD, Miss. — The FBI searched the Ole Miss football office for recording devices after Lane Kiffin left Oxford for LSU, ESPN reports.

Walker Jones, who co-founded Ole Miss' NIL collective, said on a podcast that the FBI searched for bugs in the football offices at the Manning Center after Kiffin departed for Baton Rouge.

"We actually had the FBI come through and walk the building for bugs and for everything," Jones told the podcast. "We knew kind of what was in Baton Rouge, and we knew how they operated. I remember getting on my knees and looking underneath the desk, like checking for, 'Is there some sort of bug in my office?'"

Pete Golding, who was promoted to head coach after Kiffin left, told ESPN that Ole Miss didn't hire the FBI, but that a student's father, who was an FBI agent, helped search the Rebels' offices.
