BATON ROUGE - Funeral services for LSU Baseball legend Skip Bertman will be held Aug. 25 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, LouisianaSports.Net reported Sunday evening. 

The public is invited to a service that begins at 7 p.m., following a private memorial gathering for family and former players starting at 4:30 p.m.

The doors will open at 6 p.m.

Bertman is revered as the architect of LSU Tiger Baseball for transforming the program from an afterthought in 1983 into a five-time national champion by the time he retired from coaching in 2001. He died at 88 following a brief hospitalization due to heart-related issues.
