Humidity will be back in full force to start off the new workweek. The added moisture will lead to storms once again being possible in the afternoon. 

Tonight & Tomorrow: Lows will further rise, with most seeing the mid-70s. Just like the last several days, sunshine will dominate early. Temperatures will quickly rise, and we will hit the mid-90s in the afternoon. High humidity will cause feels-like temperatures to be in the triple-digits. Once we reach peak daytime heating, storms will begin to fire. These will be isolated in nature with about 40% of the 13 parish, 2 county-wide viewing area picking up measurable rainfall. 

Up Next: High humidity will stick around through the middle of the week but rain chances will go down thanks to a ridge of high pressure building back in. By Thursday, drier air will begin to work in as a weak front passes through. This will lead to another drop in our humidity levels. Lows will once again return to the upper 60s, with highs decreasing to the lower 90s.

The Tropics: Tropical Storm Fay has strengthened slightly over the last few hours, with winds up to 65 mph. There is a small chance that Fay briefly reaches hurricane strength overnight. The storm is currently crawling slowly to the north-northeast and is expected to gain a little more strength over the next 12 hours. However, starting Monday, an approaching weather system will force Fay to make a sharp U-turn toward the southwest while picking up speed. High winds and dry air will quickly weaken the storm after the turn, causing Fay to lose its tropical characteristics by Tuesday and completely break apart by late in the week.
