BATON ROUGE - A property up for sale at Florida Blvd and Sherwood Forest Blvd has become a parking lot for trucks, abandoned cars and debris.

Neighbors say they are tired of looking at the trucks that park there all hours of the day.

"You can count anywhere between 12 to 15 trucks that are parked over there," said Clementine Turner.

There's a reason why Turner put up a fence in her backyard. Her property backs up to the property and she can see the trucks from her house. She tells 2 On Your Side she's tired of the view and has made calls to clean it up, to no help.

"It's an eyesore," she said.

Lisa Simpson is one of 16 family members that own the 8.3 acres of land up for sale. She says the trucks, buses and cars are a liability and can damage the parking lot. They're also parked there without anyone's permission.

"You're illegally parked on private property," she said.

Simpson tells 2 On Your Side she's called truck companies parked on the lot and some have agreed to remove their trucks, others are unreachable. She's also called a handful of towing companies that have turned her down.

"The other guy was an ex-trucker and was kind of empathetic," she said.

Each phone call turns up empty, but Simpson wants the lot cleared so she can sell it without any further damage and others living in the area can enjoy their homes.

WBRZ called Baton Rouge Police Wednesday. BRPD says it will visit the property to ticket the trucks and help the process of getting them removed.
