Baton Rouge Metro Council to vote on sales tax rebate for two spring events coming to LSU

BATON ROUGE — Visit Baton Rouge is asking the Metro Council for a sales tax rebate for two events coming to LSU in the Spring.
On Wednesday, the council will vote on a resolution approving the rebate of local sales and use taxes collected on the sale of admission tickets, concessions and parking for major events to be held in connection with the two unnamed events.
The first event will take place at the Alex Box Stadium on March 4, with the second event taking place at Tiger Stadium on March 6.
"While I cannot confirm details of the events mentioned on the council agenda at this time, I can confirm they are part of the Death Valley Live event series," Visit Baton Rouge Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Laura Cating said. "We are excited about this opportunity to continue building momentum for live entertainment in Baton Rouge."
