Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office rodeo adds sensory-friendly day for first time

AMITE — The 15th Annual Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Mounted Division Pro Rodeo hosted a Special Needs Rodeo on Saturday in Amite.
The rodeo initially kicked off on Friday at the Florida Parishes Arena, featuring rodeo competitions including bull riding, calf roping and rodeo clowns.
However, on Saturday, the rodeo featured a sensory-considerate Special Needs Rodeo for the first time in its history.
Participants had the opportunity to go on wagon rides, practice their lasso skills, ride horses and interact with rodeo clowns.
The rodeo will open its doors again on Saturday at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
