4 Southern University residential facilities in the dark as campus power issues continue
BATON ROUGE - Four residential facilities at Southern University are without power as repairs to the campus' transformer continue.
University officials said residents who live in Bethune, Grandison, Reed, and White halls can go to the school's event center or Horace W. Moody Intramural Center as crews install generators to the buildings.
"We appreciate the patience and understanding of our students and campus community as crews continue working to fully restore service. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available," the school said.
The campus lost power Tuesday, Sept. 1 and classes had to be canceled. The school said the cause of that outage is still being assessed.
