BATON ROUGE — The 100 Day Transformation Initiative, designed to bring neighborhood cleanup and blight reduction efforts to several North Baton Rouge communities, has expanded.

Mayor-President Sid Edwards and Councilman Anthony Kenney Jr. announced the expansion Tuesday.

The program launched in May, and the next phase will focus on designated streets throughout the Banks, Fairchild, Avenues, Alsen and Cunard/Gore neighborhoods, addressing longstanding concerns related to illegal dumping, overgrown properties, accumulated debris and neighborhood maintenance.

Edwards and Kenney are working to coordinate City-Parish resources and engage residents throughout the transformation process.

"The 100 Day Transformation Initiative represents an opportunity to make meaningful improvements in the everyday conditions of our neighborhoods," Kenney said. "I am proud to partner with Mayor-President Sid Edwards as we bring this next phase into District 2. Our residents deserve clean, safe, and well-maintained communities, and we are committed to working together to deliver visible results."

To prepare residents for the upcoming cleanup efforts, community open houses will be held at two locations within District 2.

The open house for the Banks, Fairchild and Avenues area will be held Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Scotlandville Branch Library at 7373 Scenic Highway.

The open house for the Alsen, Cunard and Gore area will be held Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Alsen BREC Park at 601 Old Rafe Mayer Road.

The open houses will allow residents to review designated project streets, learn about planned cleanup efforts and share neighborhood concerns with representatives.
