BATON ROUGE — East Baton Rouge Parish deputies arrested a drug dealer and seized fentanyl, marijuana and other drugs from a Baylor Drive home.

According to deputies, narcotics agents have been investigating Kashun Wiggins over the past several weeks. During their surveillance, deputies said that Wiggins used a blender to mix powdered substance and place it into a baggie before going to an area along Sherwood Forest Boulevard where he sold the drugs.

On Thursday, Wiggins was arrested and his home on Baylor Avenue was raided. The following was seized:

- 1.2 ounces of fentanyl
- 14.1 grams of marijuana
- 1 gram of methamphetamine
- 28 dosage units of Alprazolam

Deputies also seized digital scales, cutting agents and baggies, as well as a blender with fentanyl residue. More than $3,000 in cash was also seized.

Wiggins, 36, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on various drug charges, including distribution of Schedule II narcotics, possession with the intent to distribute, operation of a clandestine lab and transactions involving drug proceeds. He was also booked for violating electronic monitoring conditions and violating a drug-free zone by being within 2,000 feet of a church with drugs.

Wiggins' criminal history includes eight felony convictions dating back to 2006. Most recently, he was sentenced to a 15-year suspended sentence for possession with the intent to distribute heroin in 2021. He was placed on probation from 2024 to 2027, but had the probation terminated early.

When he was arrested this week, Higgins was out on bond from a June drug arrest by Baton Rouge Police. Per his bond conditions, he was placed on house arrest and ankle monitoring.
