BATON ROUGE — One person is dead and another was taken to the hospital from an Airline Highway gas station near Evangeline Street following a Friday afternoon shooting. 

Officials told WBRZ that, around 1:15 p.m., the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office and Baton Rouge EMS responded to the Chevron gas station to find two people shot. One of these people was dead and another was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. 

Baton Rouge Police also responded to the scene and the department is investigating the incident.
