HOUSTON, Texas - The Southern Jaguars trail the Houston Cougars 49-0 at halftime.

The Cougars have scored on every offensive possession, while the Jags had four turnovers in the first half.

In Southern's second drive of the game, quarterback Christian Johnson was strip sacked and the fumble was recovered by Central High alum, DK Mays. Houston would punch in a touchdown just three plays later.

Backup quarterback Ashton Strother was put into the game early in the second quarter. He ends that first drive with a pass that's intercepted by Houston's Jordan Allen.

Houston would punch in another touchdown within the final two minutes of the first half.
