ST. FRANCISVILLE — It was a wickedly fun night in West Feliciana, and all for a good cause, as hundreds of witches dressed in spooky costumes rode through the streets of St. Francisville for the sixth annual Witches Ride near Parker Park.

Among those participating was WBRZ's News Director Letitia Walker, who joined the festive parade to support the event’s mission: raising awareness and funds for the Purple House Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing essential services to victims of domestic abuse.

Organizers hope the annual ride serves as a powerful message of hope and support to anyone dealing with domestic violence.

"Don't wait. Reach out, get help. It just takes one step, and we're happy to help in any way," said Stacey Verdicanno, founder of the Witches Ride. "From pre-paid cell phones to a place to stay for a night to get you set up with a social worker. And if you're not in our direct area, we'll find someone to help you."

Following the success of this year’s parade, organizers plan to expand future efforts by adding more community events alongside the ride to continue aiding those in need.
