BATON ROUGE — New rules requiring all Greek organizations to tailgate together on the Parade Grounds drew mixed reactions from LSU students ahead of a recent football game.

It was the first time LSU officials required all Greek organizations to hold their tailgating parties in the same location. The move was meant to create unity among different organizations, according to officials.

Some students said the energy on the Parade Grounds matched what was felt inside the stadium.

"Tailgate was pretty electric, everybody was buzzing, having a good time, yeah," said Wyatt Stack, an LSU freshman.

But not everyone felt the new setup hit its mark. Because some organizations were on one side of the field while others were on the opposite side, some students felt the event was divided rather than unified.

"There'll still be a divide. I feel like it's not as like welcoming, I guess not as inclusive," one student said.

While some students believed more work needs to be done to reach the stated goal of unity, others told WBRZ's Levy Brunette that the overall campus atmosphere brought everyone together as Tiger fans.
