NEW ROADS — Residents in New Roads were treated to a day of airplanes, military displays, food and fun at the False River Regional Airport Fly-In on Saturday.

The event featured an up-close look at military aircraft and vehicles as pilots were called to fly in and join in the festivities.

Participants enjoyed food along with various workshops and discussion panels.

Organizers said that this year's Fly-In was held in conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of the Pointe Coupee Parish Veterans Memorial.
