Over 7,000 freshmen moving onto LSU campus this weekend
BATON ROUGE - More than 20 student housing complexes on LSU's campus are open this weekend as first-year students move in.
Second-year students and above will move in the following weekend.
Students are asked to print their arrival time hang tag and their Tiger Card before arriving. Air fryers and electric scooters are not allowed in the dorms.
There is also a change to how students enter campus this year. Instead of entering off River Road, students will enter on Gourrier.
LSU Police Department Sgt. Marlon Hawkins said the entry change is meant to keep traffic moving more smoothly.
"We saw some issues as it relates to heavy traffic in one area so we spread out those people that were going in that one area just so traffic can flow better, getting people places efficiently and effectively," Sgt. Hawkins said.
