PORT ALLEN — Dozens of residents on the west side of the river gathered at the Old Ferry Landing for food, live music and fun.

City leaders said they started a similar event about a decade ago but did not see a large turnout. Now they are excited to see how far this one will go.

Organizers hope to expand "Live on the Levee" next year.
