LAFAYETTE - SpaceX founder Elon Musk's private jet spent a few hours in Lafayette on Thursday.

The plane is tracked by elonjet.net, an account on Bluesky that keeps track of where Musk's personal planes travel. 

According to posts, his plane left from Austin, Texas, landed in Lafayette around 2:30 p.m. and then took off shortly before 5 p.m. 

It's unclear if Musk, who lives in Austin, was on the plane. 

The trip comes as Musk is reportedly trying to land a deal to put a rocket launching pad in Vermilion Parish.
