DALLAS - The New Orleans Saints closed out their preseason with a 27-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Spencer Rattler got the start at quarterback with the starters, including Tyler Shough, resting. Rattler started the first half and went eight of 10 for 79 yards, while Zach Wilson went nine of 12 for 93 yards in the second half.

With 1:55 left in the game, newly-acquired kicker Daniel Carlson made a 53-yard field goal to secure the victory for the Saints. They finished the preseason with a 1-2 record.

The Saints open the regular season 12 p.m. at Detroit on Sept. 13.
