BATON ROUGE — Southern University installed four new electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot of the Southern University Welcome Center on Harding Boulevard on Friday. 

According to the university, the $48,000 project was funded through the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality via Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Funds.

The new EV charging stations provide an additional option for students, faculty and members of the surrounding community who drive electric vehicles.
