BATON ROUGE — A free vet-on-wheels vaccine clinic for cats and dogs is set for the Southern University campus.

The Southern University Ag Center and the SU College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences' Animal Science Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club have partnered with Pets for Life, Companion Animal Alliance and the Hammond Animal Hospital and Pet Lodge to host the clinic. The event will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 11 on the lawn of Fisher Hall on the Southern University campus.

The animals will receive their core vaccines including the rabies vaccine during the clinic.

"This program gives individuals an opportunity to get their pets healthy without having to accrue an additional cost," Dr. Tyra Davis, Assistant Professor with the Agricultural Science and Technology College, said.

Southern University Pre-Veterinary Medicine students will also have an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience during the event.
