Scattered showers and occasional light rain remain in the forecast. Attention then turns to Tuesday, when another system could bring rain during Election Day and a few strong storms Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

Today and tonight:  Gray skies and occasional rain will continue today. Rainfall amounts should generally remain light, and not everyone will see rain. Some breaks in the clouds are possible this afternoon. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid 80s.

Up Next: The weather should become quieter Monday as ridging keeps conditions relatively calm. Unfortunately, clouds are expected to remain. Rain chances start increasing Tuesday again as a stronger system approaches from the west. Showers and possibly a few thunderstorms could develop late in the day Tuesday, potentially affecting after-work Election Day plans. The forecast remains uncertain, however, with models disagreeing on any severity and timing.

The cold front should move through very early Wednesday morning. A few strong storms will be possible, especially right along the front. The potential for locally heavy rain is also something to watch. Rain chances should taper off Wednesday as the front moves east. Drier weather is expected to return for the remainder of the workweek. Temperatures should be close to normal by November standards.

Tropics: The National Hurricane Center does not expect tropical cyclone formation in the Atlantic basin during the next seven days.
