BATON ROUGE — A 30-year-old accused of attacking a waiter following a dispute over a check at a restaurant in August was arrested after an hours-long standoff along 73rd Avenue.

Clarence Green allegedly attacked an employee at Legend Pot, a restaurant at the corner of Staring and Essen lanes, on Aug. 20. Green and two other people were eating dinner at the hot pot and Korean barbecue restaurant and, when presented with the bill, Green disputed it, saying one of the people he was with didn't eat a full meal but was charged full price.

Legend Pot is an all-you-can-eat establishment with a single set price per person.

Green and the waiter then got into an argument, with Green's bill eventually reduced by the manager. Green paid it before leaving, the affidavit says.

Green then got out of his companion's car as it was leaving. The affidavit says he proceeded to walk into the restaurant and punched the waiter in the face. Green then left the restaurant.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals Service assisted BRPD in arresting Green on second-degree battery and disturbing the peace charges. He was also booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison as a fugitive.
