TANGIPAHOA — The Village of Tangipahoa launched its first official website on Tuesday. 

The website provides people with information about elected officials, upcoming community events and public meeting minutes. Users can also easily fill out a contact form for any questions or concerns. 

The name Tangipahoa comes from a Muskogean Native American word translating to "people of the corn," and the first settlers of the village arrived in 1806 by wagon train, according to the new website. Tangipahoa currently has a population of 461, according to census data.
