BATON ROUGE — A man was fatally shot along Plank Road near Paige Street, Baton Rouge Police said Friday.

According to BRPD, the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on Thursday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Chad Hawkins, 53, with gunshot wounds. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police did not provide further information, and the department is still investigating. BRPD asks anyone with information about the shooting to call 225-344-7867.
