Ascension deputies: Juvenile booked on gun theft, car burglary charges along La. Highway 42
PRAIRIEVILLE — A teenager has been arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and firearm thefts in Prairieville neighborhoods, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Bobby Webre said the break-ins happened along La. Highway 42 between the early morning hours of July 31 and the early morning hours of Aug. 2.
Detectives identified and arrested one teenager in connection with the crimes. On Aug. 6, the teenager was transported to a juvenile detention facility.
According to police, the teenager faces multiple counts of simple burglary of a vehicle, multiple counts of firearm theft, multiple counts of theft and multiple counts of criminal trespass. One count of attempted simple burglary of a vehicle was also included in the charges.
