BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Corvette Club joined the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center to celebrate Michelle Guarisco's recent breast cancer treatment.

Guarisco was diagnosed with Stage III triple-negative breast cancer in December 2025 and underwent chemotherapy through June 2026, followed by a lumpectomy in August. After she finished her treatment and received scans showing no evidence of cancer, she rang the bell at Mary Bird Perkins on Essen Lane to celebrate the milestone.

Guarisco was joined by her family and friends, as well as members of the Corvette Club, of which she and her husband are members.

"If you need something, all you've got to do is call one of them," Guarisco said with tears in her eyes, surrounded by members of the club and her family.

The celebration extended beyond the bell ringing, with 18 Corvettes decorated in pink lining the parking lot before departing together in a celebratory parade.

"With this journey, it's incredible how strong she is," Corvette Club President Bubba Cashio said. "Even on days after treatment, she would show up and help us sell raffle tickets for St. Jude. She's relentless, and we couldn't love her anymore."
