SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield restaurant is closing its doors at the start of September. 

Kat's Warsaw Bar and Grill will permanently close on Sept. 1 after serving the Tangipahoa Parish area for the last decade.

"For the past 10 years, Kat’s Warsaw has been a place where friendships were made, stories were created, and celebrations were shared and those memories will forever be etched into the very wood this place was built on," Kat's management said in a statement on Facebook. "Unfortunately, every chapter eventually comes to an end, and it is with a very heavy heart that we announce the closing of this chapter."

A "Last Shindig" celebration is in the works to celebrate the legacy of the restaurant, management said.
