Tangipahoa deputies: Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run after being hit by two separate vehicles
HAMMOND - Deputies are looking for the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run in Hammond after a bicyclist was hit twice by separate vehicles.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said they were notified of a crash around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday involving a bicyclist on North Baptist Road and Sunset Acres.
While the driver who initially hit the bicyclist stopped and reported the incident, a second vehicle traveling in the other direction hit the victim a second time, stopped for a moment, but then left the scene, deputies said.
The victim, Michael Ribando Jr., 46, was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

The second vehicle that hit Ribando is described as a light-colored sedan. The vehicle was traveling northbound on North Baptist at the time of the incident and turned right onto Wardline Road. Anyone with information is urged to contact officials at 985-748-8147.
