AMITE — The Tangipahoa Parish School Board is continuing its search for a new superintendent to succeed Melissa Stilley, who announced her retirement earlier this year. 

Stilley's contract extends through January 2027.

The school board has begun conducting interviews for the position. The public interviews can be watched here.

The candidates interviewed at the Wednesday session were Jamie Cole, a former superintendent in Phoenix, Arizona, and Ronald Genco, the current assistant superintendent of the Tangipahoa Parish School System. 

A public town hall meeting will be held on Aug. 19 to allow members of the community to meet the candidates and ask questions. The meeting will be held at the TPSS School Board Office—59656 Puleston Road in Amite—at 6 p.m.
