Texas contractor extradited to Louisiana after defrauding Livingston Parish victim
LIVINGSTON — A Texas-based contractor has been arrested on allegations that he defrauded local residents, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Adib Name, 59, was arrested on Tuesday morning and faces a charge of home improvement fraud and misapplication of contractor funds.
According to authorities, a Livingston Parish resident hired Name’s company to repair home damage from a fire in early 2025. While the victim paid more than $140,000, investigators say that only partial work was completed on the project and that subcontractors were not paid.
Authorities made the arrest after a year-long investigation, and Name was taken into Texas custody by Attorney General partners and extradited to Louisiana.
