BATON ROUGE — Thrive Academy officials said the LHSAA is investigating a fight between players after their football game against Capitol High School on Friday at Memorial Stadium.

According to an official statement released by the school, no students were injured during the incident to the administration's knowledge.

Thrive Academy has completed an internal investigation, which included a review of available video footage, and shared its findings with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). School leaders stated they will continue to cooperate fully with the athletic association throughout its ongoing review.

"Thrive Academy does not condone fighting or unsportsmanlike conduct by any student-athlete," the statement read. "We expect our students to represent their families, their communities, and our school with integrity, on and off the field."

The school noted that it plans to handle student conduct through its own internal disciplinary process, in addition to any formal administrative actions or penalties handed down by the LHSAA.

Officials also expressed, "We hold Capitol High School's history, students, coaches, and staff in the highest regard."

The incident comes just weeks after the LHSAA suspended Carroll High School's football season and cancelled the remainder of Assumption High School's home games following a late September brawl involving Carroll High School players and Assumption High fans.
