UPDATE: The issue has since been resolved.

BATON ROUGE — Verizon customers in the capital region are seeing issues with their cellular service on Thursday.

According to Verizon's website, customers in Baton Rouge are having problems with data, voice, text and wireless home internet. 

In a statement sent to WBRZ, a Verizon spokesperson said, "We are aware of a localized issue impacting wireless service for a small group of customers in the Baton Rouge area. Our engineering teams are actively working to restore service as quickly as possible."

The company did not say what caused the issues or how big of an area was affected.
