SHREVEPORT — A human trafficking operation in North Louisiana recovered four victims and led to one arrest last week, according to Louisiana State Police.

The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit coordinated the local effort as part of Operation Coast to Coast, a nationwide initiative that brought law enforcement and community partners together to combat human trafficking.

Troopers, investigators and analysts worked alongside the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, Shreveport Police Department, Bossier City Marshal's Office and an analyst with the Louisiana Attorney General's Office.

The four victims recovered were connected with services. One individual was arrested for computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with minors.

Nationally, the operation involved more than 250 law enforcement agencies and organizations across 22 states. It resulted in 125 arrests and provided services to 79 probable human trafficking victims, including five minors.

Local law enforcement efforts were supported by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, BCFS Common Thread, Purchased Not for Sale and Our Rescue, according to police. These organizations provided services to those being exploited during the operation.
