BATON ROUGE — A Food and Drug Administration recall was issued Monday for Nature's Own Hawaiian Bread due to contamination from undeclared milk.

Flower Foods is recalling 20oz and 40oz bags of the Hawaiian Bread due to the risk of people who have a milk allergy or severe sensitivity having an allergic reaction if they eat the bread. The product being recalled was distributed to retail customers in Louisiana, as well as Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

People with milk allergies should not consume the bread if the best-by date is Oct. 8, 2026, through Oct. 18, 2026.

Consumers are also urged to check the product codes on the bread.

A list of product codes for the affected bread is available on the FDA website.

Affected products should be discarded or may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. No related illnesses or incidents have been reported to date.
