BATON ROUGE — This week on Positively BR, we’re putting the “paws” in positive, testing our claw-machine skills and getting to know one of the familiar faces behind the WBRZ newsroom.

From a therapy dog making a difference around Baton Rouge to a colorful arcade where winning is the goal, Episode 7 has a little something for everyone.

We’ll also have the latest on American Idol’s move to Georgia and sit down with WBRZ Capitol Correspondent Alexis Marigny for a round of “This or That” and a behind-the-scenes look at the journalist viewers usually see covering the state Capitol.

Four paws making a difference

Goosey may be small, but the therapy dog is making a big difference around Baton Rouge.

The four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel visits places including Knock Knock Children’s Museum, Baton Rouge Metro Airport and Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area.

He also works with older adults and hospice patients, offering comfort and companionship when it matters most.

One of Goosey’s most meaningful visits came when he became the final visitor for a hospice patient during the man's final moments.

Goosey’s work has also earned him a spot as one of five national semifinalists in the Therapy Dog category of the American Humane Hero Dog Awards.

One Tank Trip: Clawing for a win

Then, it’s time to play.

This week’s One Tank Trip takes Angelica to Gotcha Baton Rouge, an arcade where claw machines are the main event.

The colorful space is filled with rows of machines, bright LED lights and stuffed animals waiting to be won.

Manager Abigail Duhon says the arcade attracts kids and adults alike.

“I see a lot of older kids and older adults come in and they leave with a big smile on their face with all their stuffed animals,” Duhon said.

Each machine has a sticker showing its difficulty level, and winning stuffed animals can be traded for chips toward bigger prizes.

Angelica puts her claw-machine skills to the test with a few close calls along the way.

American Idol on the move

In entertainment news, American Idol is relocating its production from California to Georgia ahead of its 25th season.

The Atlanta area is reportedly being considered as the show’s new production home, although an exact location has not been announced.

Getting to know Alexis

And finally, we’re getting to know someone viewers normally see covering the news.

Angelica sits down with WBRZ Capitol Correspondent Alexis Marigny for a friendly game of “This or That.”

The conversation gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Alexis, from her quick picks to the personality behind her work at the state Capitol.
